Noongar Six Seasons | Colours of Kambarang

In celebration of Kambarang  — the sixth season in the Noongar calendar — the City of Perth presents  ‘slow TV’ programs that gently transform the urban landscape with the colours, textures, and rhythms of Kambarang.

Colours of Kambarang, our seasonal daytime presentation, offers a contemplative journey through Kings Park (Kaarta Koomba) and documents a myriad of native wildflowers currently in bloom. The vivid beauty and life of Perth’s natural wonders are paired with seasonal insights about Kambarang from the Kurongkurl Katitjin page on the ECU website, along with the taxonomic and common names of each flower.

Kambarang, a season of flowering and awakening, signals the return of warmth after Djilba’s cooler days. These screenings honour that change, encouraging city dwellers and visitors alike to pause and reflect on the deep seasonal patterns of place.
