In celebration of Kambarang — the sixth season in the Noongar calendar — the City of Perth presents two meditative ‘slow TV’ programs that gently transform the urban landscape with the colours, textures, and rhythms of Kambarang.
As the sun sets, the screen shifts to Yallingup Beach, capturing the sun setting over the sweeping and majestic coast. Surfers bob gently among the waves as the sky transforms. Viewers are invited to experience the shifting light and elemental changes of the season as they unfold over land and sea.
Kambarang, a season of flowering and awakening, signals the return of warmth after Djilba’s cooler days. These screenings honour that change, encouraging city dwellers and visitors alike to pause and reflect on the deep seasonal patterns of place.
