Exhibition Screening | Landscapes of War
Australian Art from the Front Works by Australian War Artists deployed across 20th-century conflicts capture the eerie calm of landscapes haunted by battle. Featuring notable figures including Arthur Streeton, Louis McCubbin, and William Dargie, this exhibition spans Western Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. From the collection of the Australian War Memorial.
Exhibition Screening | Sidney Nolan’s Gallipoli
Sidney Nolan’s celebrated Gallipoli series — 252 drawings and paintings completed over two decades — was donated to the Australian War Memorial in 1978 in memory of his brother Raymond. Blending real and imagined landscapes, Nolan’s portraits of ANZACs seek to define the Australian national character: a timeless lament for lives lost on a distant shore. From the collection of the Australian War Memorial.
