Noongar Six Seasons | Colours of Kambarang

Celebrating Kambarang, the sixth season in the Noongar calendar, the City of Perth presents ‘slow TV’ programs that gently transform the urban landscape with Kambarang’s colours, textures, and rhythms.

Colours of Kambarang, our season daytime presentation, offers a contemplative journey through Kings Park (Kaarta Koomba) and documents a myriad of native wildflowers currently in bloom. The vivid beauty and life of Perth’s natural wonders are paired with seasonal insights about Kambarang from the Kurongkurl Katitjin page on the ECU website, along with each flower’s taxonomic and common names.

Kambarang, a season of flowering and awakening, signals the return of warmth after Djilba’s cooler days. These screenings honour that change, encouraging city dwellers and visitors alike to pause and reflect on the deep seasonal patterns of place.
